The Writer Within When did I first discover the writer within? Over the course of time, what has happened to that writer? Where is that writer now? It was 1972 at Ed White Elementary school in, Houston, Texas where my histories as a writer surely begin. …The writer within became awakened. I began with a short story enlisting several my childhood characters. At first the writing was slow, but soon the words began spilling onto the page. Finally that long lost feeling is back. Although I'm not writing every day, my writing has become more frequent. I'm beginning to improve as writing has become enjoyable again. The writer within is still awake and continues to haunt me to just keep writing.
