Iceman was a chance find, 92m inside the Italian border by mountaineers, Erika and Helmut Simon. He was discovered on September 19 1991 along with a range of artefacts. …Overall the find of Iceman was very significant and has caused a great debate between scientists since his discovery. Iceman may have been a hunter who often travelled into the Alps. He knew what the weather was usually like and dressed accordingly. He comes from a very advanced farming community in Northern Italy. The technology in his clothing and some artefacts (such as spiral feathered arrows) proves that Iceman has come from this advanced community.
