The oldest known valentine, still in existence today was a poem written by Charles, Duke of Orleans while he was imprisoned in the Tower of London. This greeting was written in 1415, and can be viewed today at the British Museum in London, England. The truth behind Valentine's Day will forever be unknown. However, the stories show a sympathetic, heroic, and most importantly, romantic gesture. Although February 14th has passed, Happy Valentine's Day!
