Abstract
In this lab I looked at different tissues of a plant in prepared and freshly prepared slides.
Each of these slides showed the various tissues and cell types that make up a plant. I, specifically,
looked at the angiosperm plants. I examined these plants by using the naked eye and drew
diagrams describing the morphology of the plant. I, also, examined and drew diagrams of the
anatomy of the plants by using a light

When I looked at the oak secondary xylem (figure 5) I saw a vessel member. It was
short (relative to the tracheid) with a cylinder-like shape and it had a wide diameter. It
seemed to have a thin cell wall, compared to the tracheid. The tracheids were long, in
comparison to the vessel member, and were tubular. Its cell wall seemed thicker than that of
the vessel member. Both vessel member and tracheids had pits.
