The explosion of new ideas and human thought in Europe, kept captive beneath the dismal dark ages, came to be known as the Renaissance. The Renaissance was a time of cleansing for Europe. A renewed confidence in mankind was born and this newfound faith was present in everything the Renaissance produced. …but because it was a fitting renewal of the morbid Middle Ages. The Renaissance was Europe awakening from a long slumber and seeing the world for the first time. The major modifications made to art, education, and religion in the Renaissance were based mainly upon the pride of being human. The fresh idea of confidence in the Renaissance led to thousands of other new ideas, but all retained the theme of increasing the human potential.
