The Articles of the Confederation VS. the Constitution
During the history of the United States, our country has operated under two different constitutions. First, The Articles of the Confederation, which was put in effect in Maryland March 1, 1781. And second, The Constitution, which came into order in place of the articles in New Hampshire on June 21, 1778. The Articles of the Confederation nad The Constitution compare and contrast in many ways, especially regarding the specific powers by each to the national government.

consent of nine of the thirteen states to pass.
As you can see these documents contained very similar statements concerning the poweres given to the national government, but they were not anywhere close to being the same. The differences made from the Articles of the Confederation to The Constitution were made because of what some felt were flaws in the the original thirteen articles. When the corections were made an entire new constitution was formed.
