Also all the tales of black cats, angels, mermaids, vampires, and many more told in that period of time. …most is still death. Some believe that's why the vampire superstitions were made up. They still today have health and hygiene myths, like dieting strategy's. They don't all work for a reason. There are people today who call them selves Wicca or also witches. Are they? That's what you decide. Black cats, mermaids, and angels are still believed in by some. Superstition will remain until the unexplainable is explained. Or even after that, who knows.
