prejudice is an attitude (feeling) and discrimination is behavior (act). Stereotype is a prejudice because it's a feeling not a behavior. You do not act on stereotype you just feel it. Like saying midgets are all evil.
Assimilation is like a melting pot in American. Everyone is doing everyone else culture. For prejudice and discrimination there is a lot of it. There is no stopping it because of how people feel towards a different race.
