Research has shown that mothers who have some form of prenatal education, and who are cared for by qualified physicians have significantly lower risk pregnancies. If women were more educated about the importance of folic acid and essential nutrients in their diet not only during pregnancy, but during child bearing years, fewer children would suffer from spina bifida and it's possible complications.
