The first thing that pop up in peoples mind, when Ireland is mentioned, is the Troubles. I have chosen to have a closer look on the country's flag, what it symbolise, its story and its relations to the Troubles:

Nowadays the flag is the national emblem of Ireland. Meagher's and Conolly's peaceful dreams have yet to be realised. Although the flag still remains as a symbol of the diverse people of Ireland and the majorities` will for peace. Hopefully one day the flags ideal will be fulfilled.
