Are Uniforms Really Necessary
Do clothes really make the man or the does the man only emerge when the clothes cease to have the power to control the man? Does our outward appearance define who we are or do our actions and intellect distinguish us as thinking individuals apart from the masses? Can we imagine a high achieving school free from gangs and random violence that honors cultural diversity and individualism while eliminating class distinctions

violence any more than imposing one set of clothes for school and another for play will reduce family expenses. In a society that has always exalted the beauty of the individual why do we now want to camouflage that individual, if he/she is a student? Are we not acutally hiding the failures of public schools behind a uniform, a school child's uniform? Do the clothes make the student? Let's allow the students to decide.
