…of someone's mind be classed as being part of a religious experience? Is 'religious experience' what the recipient says it is? Is it actually an experience of the divine? How does the person know what he is experiencing is God. He doesn't. Then how can his experience be classed as a religious experience. This argument can never be settled. Religious experiences are meant to re-affirm the faith of a believer, not to convert a non-believer.
