The end of the Civil War brought many changes to the United States. The reconstruction period changed some things, but barely had an impact on social equality and political dismay. The government however, started black suffrage, but it did not help to remake the south or to gaurntee human rights. After the civil war, many important events took place. Instead of reconstructing the south to the way it was, the north changed it from a farming industry into a textile industry. The events that happened in the South during the reconstruction era, changed the way that the blacks were treated, and how they would be treated.
