The volunteers interviewed for this paper all stated that they greatly benefited from their experience. Citizens of the communities served have benefited economically and socially, the United States politically, and the volunteers themselves personally through the Peace Corps. The work of the Corps has assisted in increasing the understanding between the United States and the countries that are served.
