Jefferson appeared to be a die-hard Republican, however many people question whether or not Jefferson used Federalists ideals during his reign as President. He attempted to stay part of the Democratic Republican party, but it was hard not to take on Federalist beliefs. (2 Taking Sides) Jefferson resulted in finding a medium between the two parties and keeping everyone happy. So for the most part Jefferson was a Democratic Republican who supported some Federalist beliefs.
