Today, January 20, 2003, over 50,000 people, both young and old, braved the cold weather and proudly walked over two miles in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. The march began at the Boy's and Girl's Club on Martin Luther King Boulevard on San Antonio's East side and ended at E. Houston and N. New Braunfels along side Dr. King's statue. I am sure Mr. King would be proud of this city and how we come together this time of year. He would also be proud of the diverse cultures that live and work here with little or no incidents at all. Once again, the people of San Antonio have made me proud to be a citizen of this city.
