Classifying marijuana as a Schedule II drug would allow patients to use marijuana for medical purposes only, while it would remain illegal for recreational use. Many seriously ill patients could use marijuana to relieve their pain and suffering, and therefore marijuana prohibitions must not, in good conscience, continue to deny them the rights that they deserve.
