Louisa May Alcott; while primarily a writer of adult fiction, is one of the most prominent writers of juvenile fiction today. Her biggest success was "Little Women" a series of novels captured perfectly the ideals and values of middle class domestic life in the 19th century. She is known also for her work in reform, advocating temperance and Women's suffrage.

<Tab/>Unfortunately Alcott's health began to fail. Her mercury poisoning was beginning to take a toll on her in her old age. She moved what was rest of her family into Louisburg Square, Boston. She wrote the best she could even as her health declined publishing Jo's Boys in 1886. Louisa died two days after her father on March 6, 1888 leaving behind a legacy of great literature and advocation of equal rights.
