was able to act firmly enough. This meant that countries were sacrificed in place of
peace. However this only postponed the inevitable, an in late 1939, the second world
war had begun.
Soon after the end of WWII, the league of Nations was disbanded and replaced with a
new peace organization, the United Nations. It has stood until today.
