The La Nuestra Familia (NF) originated in Soledad, now San Quentin, prison in California in the mid-1960's and was formed to protect younger, rural, Mexican-American inmates from other inmates. The NF has been around since the mid-sixties and will continue to operate. We as Law enforcement have to devise new ways to deal not only with local and national gangs but international gangs and terror groups.
