Debates broke out several times, but after much complexity and some nuclear threats by Eisenhower, finally an armistice agreement was signed on July 27, 1953. Fatalities in the war were heavy. U.S. losses were sited at over 54,000, as well as 103,000 wounded. As for Chinese and Korean losses, they were at least ten times as high.
