I noticed the loudness of the Dixie music being played by the men waiting to head into the battle and fight. The women wore puffy hats, fancy cloaks, and flashy dresses. The Confederate flags were flying proudly in the camps, the smell of fresh vegetable stew was in the camp. The Confederate men were busily tending to their everyday duties such as tending to the wounded, the ill or filling out death certificates.
