Investigations into the Architecture of Copan
Periodicals can be divided into two major categories: popular magazines and scholarly journals. In academic research it is important to distinguish between both types. While each is valuable in research, most academic work will favour scholarly sources over popular ones. In order to compare these two types of literature, I will look at two articles on the ancient city of Copan, which was built and occupied by the Maya during the Classic Period of Mesoamerica.
