The French and Indian War was the beginning of the American Revolution. During this war, tensions grew to an immense degree, especially when the British found out that the Americans were secretly trading with their enemy, the French and the Spanish. Also, when the British issued the Proclamation of 1763 to try to prohibit the colonists from migrating west, the colonists became extremely upset, thinking that the British were siding with the Native Americans who lived …

…and Indian War, the colonists developed military experience and boosted their self-esteem by proving to the world that the British were not as strong as they had originally thought. Also, the colonials realized that even though they belonged to different colonies, they still shared many ideas and spoke the same language. This helped them to emerge with a great sense of unity that had never existed between them previously, while strengthening their drive for independence.
