Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to afford to continue his or her education into the college level. Financial aid helps those in need to continue their education, however, financial aid does not help everyone. …help is being obtained to help pay these expenses and therefore the students should be declared a dependent. For the added expense of investigating whether a student can be considered independent or not, it would benefit everyone much more than the way the system is now. More intelligent and responsible people would attend college and create a better life for themselves and their future families. Jobs would have more skilled workers available to fill positions.
