…as much racism as there was in the 1800s, there is still a substantial amount and it is never going to stop until people stop "putting their heads in the sand" as Shepard puts it, and actually discuss it. School is supposed to prepare for life after school, how would they do that if they keep banning important books? If racism is let be, it will keep growing like it did in Pre-Civil war era.
