…sectional tension and ultimately contributed to the failure of the Union, the founding fathers made it possible to amend the Constitution at any time. Presently, two hundred-fourteen years after the ratification of the Constitution, there have only been twenty-seven amendments. This shows that the founding fathers thought well ahead of their time and created a Constitution that included answers to many questions, although, in general, this document eventually contributed to the collapse of the Union.
