Compare/Contrast
I can?t even being to imagine the feelings the Native Americans felt as foreign people invaded their homeland nor can I imagine the emotions that the first white explorers had as they entered a whole new world. But, these two poems, one by an Algonkian people and the other by a Puritan minister, give some insight to what was going on during that time period and what happened when these two worlds clashed.

These two poems, which are similar to some extent and differ slightly on their own part, paint a picture illustrating the views of two different worlds consisting of two different people with two different ideas and mentalities. Although the exact feelings and emotions of these opposite people are difficult to define, there seems to be a thin yet definite line that separates not only these two poems, but also two worlds.
