Upon the advancement of the economy and growing expansion of the slave trades, slavery became the main source of labor in the colonies, which had great interference with their own cultures. Some managed to maintain their own cultures while others adopted the European cultures. Either way did not justify how much they suffered throughout the colonial period until President Lincoln abolished slavery.
