…were the American colonies controlled in the topics of commerce, and to a lesser extent as far as religion and colonial government. Due to their lack of exercising authority over the colonies at first, they developed independent of England and started to develop a unique culture and when the English started to tighten their grip, the colonists engendered animosity. This lack of government and control would eventually lead to the demise of the English Empire.
