Most of the population came from a high birthrate from the settlers; while the other half of the population came from the intense immigration of slaves. So people came to Colonial America for various reasons, whether it be forced or by choice. People came with hopes for a better life, while others came as slaves and worked until they died. But without either of these types of people, America would probably not be the way we know it today.
