Kennedy's goal was for peace and prosperity for all Americans, rich and poor alike. Kennedy's superficial nature was one of peace and in the beginning of this campaign seemed would be his downfall, however he proved all the polls wrong who had Nixon way ahead, in the end Kennedy and his peaceful nature won out. Kennedy thought that the public would reject him because of his Catholic beliefs, much like Churchill's rejection in the thirties.
