that was looked at through all medieval literature and extended upon. One of the great writers of the time was Chretien de Troyes (1135-1183), and Giovanni Boccaccio (1313-1375). They were authors who wrote about comedy and short fiction stories which were popular in that time. Other than that artwork from Giotto, the Limbourg brothers, and a couple of other influenced artisans helped to evolve what we know as true art for the High Middle Ages.
