…a bird. The bird was not picked over another animal because of its certain traits. It was just by luck. Sophocles had not intention of making the bird a central idea in this book. The bird being used thorough out the play has no real effect on anything. It is just another word. If it would have made a difference it would have only had one meaning to it. However, it had many different meanings.
