…came together as a nation, apart from Britain, and stood up for their own rights, and bonded together to continue their dream as the land of freedom and prosperity. Although the tensions were high, colonists did indeed offer signs of peace, such as the Olive Branch Petition, before war was reality. But, with a lack of cooperation from the British government, and their dreams at risk, the new Americans took matters into their own hands.
