A recent visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art had been a usefully spent time at least because it gave me chance to recognize the home of a wide variety of art works - of different styles, times, and locations. African, American, Oceania, Egyptian, Asian, European art also Medieval, Modern, Islamic and other styles are represented with in the walls of the museum. …interpreting such works when lacking the correct information. Madonna and Child is an example of the European art of the High Renaissance period, carrying the feeling of graceful harmony between the mother, child and a viewer, depicted in lush pastel and somewhat dark tones, and at the same time being a naturalistic depiction. And while both are carriers of their cultural birthright, both serve as contrast to another one, not necessarily better or worse one.
