Being Chancellor was a highly regarded position in the Roman Catholic Church in Britain and Wolsley was a highly intellectual man. He was extremely jealous of Thomas More and he thus despises him and does everything in his power to relive him of his position. After the death of Thomas More, Cromwell becomes Chancellor of England, but ironically, is later found guilty of treason and is killed too.
