In conclusion, it is apparent that these three theories were derived in response to societies position at the time. Indeed the industrial revolution; politics and social order were all factors.
I have found that both functionalism and Interactionism share an emphasis on the existence of consensus in society, although they do differ in other areas.
Marxism however deals mainly with conflict of the classes but also with many other issues such as feminism and religion
