…showed last 75 words of 559 total…he murders his wife. Instead, he is remembered for his valiant acts and as a passionate lover. It is Iago who is tainted with the label of a "Spartan dog" and is punished accordingly.
To say that the play depicts Othello’s downfall and the rise of Iago would be entirely false, therefor. What is portrayed is actually the contrary, the triumph of love over hatred even in the most unfortunate of all circumstances.
