It can be seen in dictatorships of the world today, like Kim Il Sung of North Korea who has complete power but forces 1.5 million people to starve each year just so he has a large arsenal of weapons to protect himself. In all, this is a very thought provoking play, still relevant today, even though it is over 400 years old.
