In the movie The Hurricane, Rubin “Hurricane” Carter was put in jail for half of his life because of a corrupt police officer abused his power and unfairly jailed Carter. Officer Della Pesca was responsible for all of the things Rubin Carter was charged with. …it is easy for something like that to happen. Rubin’s case would not have had the same outcome if it had happened in the 1990's, but at the time of this case corruption was frequent and many people were racist.
