Ansel Adams was a photographer and a conservationist who was born on February
20,1902. He was born at 114 Maple Street in San Francisco and he was the only
child of Olive and Charles (“Ansel Adams” 1). He lived his child hood with his
parents on the tip of the San Francisco peninsula at Land’s End (“Ansel Adams:
One of the Greatest Photographers of All Time” 1).

was elected a Fellow of the
American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In the 1970’s his prints sold for amounts
larger than any other photographer before.
In 1984, Ansel Adams passed away on April 22nd from heart failure (“Ansel
Adams” 1). At the time he was also battling cancer (1). He will always be
remembered for his stunning photography. Adams was a master of the art and could
make any landscape beautiful in black and white.
