<Tab/>A war was inevitable. The nations were suspicious of each other long before the 20th century. But the two alliances and the building of new technology for war increased this distrust even more. Also the long lasting imperialistic plans of the Great Powers would have led to a war. Nothing that could have been done in 1914 to prevent the war could have prevented it to happen in future.
