…it will never become just or successful, no matter how much wealth is accumulated. For the price of gaining this wealth will not be worth the disorder and destruction that is to come in our future. The oppressed will rise up against those who possess wealth and redistribute land and property. In this great state of freedom, which Plato calls true “democracy” even more injustice will occur, leading to the eventual decay of the State.
