The Golden Age
In the essay "The Myth of the Golden Age" by Mary Beth Norton, Mary did not agree with historians that it was a "Golden Age" for women during the colonial period. …showed last 75 words of 1537 total…back at America during the colonial era, it is seen that women were primary shapers in the world of marriage, child-raising and household duties. However, as Mary states " a great deal more research is needed in order to allow historians to gain a fuller picture of the female". It might not have been the worst of times for women, but it was definitely not the best of times to be called the "Golden Age".
