They disagreed with the theories that only those who are well adapted to their society should succeed and they were in favor of social programs, such as governmental subsidies and welfare. These two theories, Imperialism and Social Darwinism were used to justify and explain Europe’s expansion and the control it took over other nations. What they fail to do though, is excuse it.
