Based on the chain of events within The Merchant of Venice, same sex bonds seem to be of greater importance. Whether this is the case in real life will always be debateable because the amount of counterexamples is endless. I personally believe that all types of bonds are different therefore it becomes difficult to compare, especially when things such as physical relationships are part of the equation.
