The reason for such a dispersed set of results could be due to a variety of factors including the length of time the tests were left in the homes and the precision taken at home by the students to run the experiment correctly. A seemingly small detail such as sealing the package at the appropriate time and getting it in the mail immediately could drastically affect the results.
