…the people, and by the people; the shepard people of Greece were in dire need of a goat god when Pan was finally born. What a catastrophe that Pan died, although it wasn’t noted how, so how can one really be sure that Pan is dead? Perhaps Apollo, or some other god jealous of Pan’s appeal to the people captured him and proclaimed to Thamus that Pan was dead. One can only hope.
