…showed last 75 words of 487 total…to keep from laughing in the ecstasy of my power over them.” The suggestion that a boy believed that he had so much muscle with this rifle that it almost caused him to snicker at his destructive power is preposterous. His language on the other hand makes me believe it. A testament to Wolff is how he can in fact depict anything so clearly that believing it is not a stretch for the narrowest mind.
